About Us

Hello! We’re Mel and Ed, and we live at Polson Farm. Mel grew up here and her family has been here for a couple of generations. We met ten years ago and have been on the move across the UK due to Ed’s service in the British Army. Now, we’re happily settled back at Polson Farm with our family of four, along with our beloved spaniel and three adorable cats!

Our Dream

Our dream is to transform this farmland into a stunning park that offers a plethora of activities both on and off newly dug lakes. Picture this: a cozy café, scenic walking paths, and communal areas nestled alongside exhilarating water-based activities like swimming, paddle-boarding, wakeboarding, and an aqua park. Our goal is to craft a space that not only fosters enjoyment, but also respects and preserves the natural environment, making it easily accessible for individuals of all ages, skill levels, and abilities.

Community lies at the heart of everything we do. In addition to paid activities, we’re committed to providing free-to-access areas for local families to enjoy. This includes accessible walking paths and a children’s play area, free for all to use.

Sustainability and community enrichment are at the forefront of our mission. Through the park’s development, we aim to create new job opportunities and provide platforms for local businesses to thrive sustainably. We envisage the park becoming a hub for eco-friendly tourism, bolstering the local economy while harmonising with the surrounding natural landscape.

The Park

We’re in the process of applying for planning permission, and through this website, we aim to share more about our vision, who the park is designed for, and the exciting activities it will offer. We’re eager to have your support and welcome any feedback you may have.

Located in the pasture fields opposite Polson Farm, adjacent to the A30, the park will seamlessly blend with nature, enhancing the biodiversity of the land while incorporating eco-friendly infrastructure to support outdoor activities.

Below, you’ll find sketches showcasing the park’s layout, as well as glimpses of what to expect when you visit, along with specific details about various features.

We’re keen to hear your thoughts—what resonates with you, what you’re uncertain about, and any concerns you may have. If you’re a local business and believe the community spaces could benefit you, we’re all ears! Share with us what facilities you think would be most valuable.

Feel free to use the form at the bottom of this page to submit your feedback directly to us. Your input is invaluable as we strive to create a park that everyone can enjoy.

Activities

An aqua park is a giant floating play ground! It provides fun and exhilarating experiences for people of all ages and skill levels. We even have a smaller park for children as young as 4.

Wakeboarding is provided by an electric motor pulley system. This makes it almost silent, much easier to learn and very environmentally friendly. No noisy boats at this park!

A free to use play area for children, which will be supported by a small cafe and easy access walks around the lake. If you don’t fancy a lake activity, please come and relax here with your children for free!

Open water swimming and standup paddle boarding will be available on the lake too. Great for fitness, for fun and in a beautiful environment.

Lake walks will be available around the park where you can explore the wildlife, see the River Tamar and relax in a beautiful setting.

Facilities

Wood clad agricultural style buildings will be used to house the park reception, changing rooms, cafes, toilets and storage. This will ensure they blend beautifully into the Devon countryside.

The “lily pad” community spaces will be areas of the park that can be used to host small local events such as food festivals, or makers markets. We welcome ideas on how people would like to use these!
